PROOF-Study: The efficacy and safety of high-dose intravenous fosfomycin (5 g every 8 hours) in combination with other antibiotic is evaluated in complicated bone and implant-associated infections caused by staphylococci, enterococci and gram-negative organisms.
For the first time PRO-IMPLANT Foundation hosted at the Workshop on PJI also participants from Latvia: Dr. Peteris Studers (Trauma/Ortho) and Dr. Martins Malzubris (Ortho and Bone Infections). We are looking forward to establishing a close collaboration in research and clinical practice with Baltic countries.

On March 25, 2015 the Consilium Infectiorum Workshop will take place in Leipzig, Germany. The aim of this workshop is to look at the biofilm from different angles to optimize the therapy and prevent persistence and recurrence of infection.
- standard treatment (6-10 weeks until reimplantation)
- "fast-track" treatment (2-3 weeks short interval).
PRO-IMPLANT Foundation is launching the "Homecare" Trial evaluating the feasibility of intravenous treatment at patient home. This study aims to improve quality of life and reduce hospital stay in patients requiring prolonged intravenous antibiotic therapy.
