Dr. Ignacio Escobar is a resident of clinical microbiology from Hospital de Navarra, Pamplona, Spain. He was a member of interdisciplinary team of Septic Surgery department at Charité - University Medicine Berlin for three months.
"As a resident of clinical microbiology it was very important for me to know new approaches of antibiotic treatments and diagnostic algorithms of most common pathologies at the department of musculoskeletal surgery.
The team of orthopedic surgeons and infectious disease specialists work very well together to give the best treatment possible to the patient.
I observed several cases of prosthetic joint infections and participated in infectious diseases consultations at other departments.
The team is also involved in research and performs clinical studies, which is very important for a good practice. Everyone there was very nice to me, very kind and helpful and responded to every question that I had.
I want to thank especially Dr. med. Andrej Trampuz and his extraordinary team for giving me the opportunity to work and learn from them, and for giving me one of the best experiences of my life."
